Why I Created
Diabetes Wellness
Today

As a retired physician who has lived with Type 2 diabetes for approximately 20 years, I understand these daily challenges from both a professional and a personal perspective. That experience inspired me to create Diabetes Wellness Today as a source of practical, supportive resources for adults living with Type 2 diabetes.

Living with Type 2 diabetes involves much more than taking medication or checking blood sugar. Every day brings decisions about meals, snacks, portion sizes, physical activity, and other habits that can affect overall health and diabetes management.

My goal is to remain involved in the education and support of people living with Type 2 diabetes by providing practical, easy-to-use journals, planners, and educational resources. These tools are designed to encourage greater awareness, better organization, and more informed everyday choices.

Why This Matters

Diabetes affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide. According to the 2025 International Diabetes Federation Diabetes Atlas, approximately 589 million adults worldwide—about one in nine adults—are living with diabetes. The report also estimates that about 43% remain undiagnosed.

My own experience has taught me that one of the most important parts of diabetes self-management is simply becoming more aware of our daily choices. Meals, snacks, portion sizes, and even the fruits we select can influence blood glucose management.

Keeping a consistent record of these choices can help reveal patterns, improve discussions with healthcare professionals, and encourage healthier habits over time.

The journals and planners offered through Diabetes Wellness Today were created to make that process easier. They are educational and organizational tools and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical care. Instead, they are designed to help people become more informed and active participants in managing their health.

I believe that education, consistency, and informed daily choices can make a meaningful difference over time.

Thank you for visiting Diabetes Wellness Today. I hope these resources help you learn more about your daily habits, stay organized, and work closely with your healthcare team toward better long-term health.
